Hi, I’m Carly Corrigall, a personal trainer who specialises in women’s health and fitness during the peri to post menopause period. Behind the scenes, I love getting out for a run in the countryside and a good cup of coffee (not necessarily in that order!).
I’m probably not your archetypal person trainer – I wasn’t the sporty kid at school and often had a note to be let off from games! My twenties were spent working as a solicitor and, as I know is the case for many women, about exercising to look a certain way. Then I had children, and everything changed. I struggled with my body confidence and didn’t know how to get moving again, as I suffered from postnatal depression and a variety of physical symptoms. The lack of proper information available back then prompted me to start my learning journey in a bid to piece myself back together again and eventually change careers entirely to become a personal trainer helping other women.
I know first-hand what it’s like to not have a clue where to start with exercise having been there myself. I also like to apply the same critical eye and attention to detail I used in my days as a lawyer to the latest research around women’s health and fitness. There is so much information out there which is often conflicting and confusing. But feeling the benefits of exercise doesn’t have to be complicated or take up loads of your time. In fact, my aim is to simplify this for the women I work with, so that you have a clear idea of what you can do to feel your best.
I am in the perimenopausal transition myself and completely understand its challenges. I firmly believe that there is so much we can do to help ourselves and feel more in control of what is otherwise a bit of a rollercoaster ride! I’m here to help you make this a really positive transition, where you can improve your relationship with your body, boost your health, wellbeing and mood and feel better both inside and out for the rest of your life.
